Recorded documents are microfilmed as a permanent record and the original document is returned to the customer. Filed documents are retained for a specified length of time, or kept permanently, as in the case of maps. All recorded documents are indexed by the names of the principal parties and year recorded. This office also indexes, maintains and issues certified copies of birth and death certificates received from the local Health Department. This office has a program for Civil Marriage Commissioner for a Day where an individual may perform the marriage ceremony of a specific couple. Fictitious Business Name Statement, abandonment, withdrawal and proof of publication of these statements are filed in this office. We provide an index and digital copy for viewing of the Fictitious Business Name documents filed in Yolo County. Notary oaths and bonds, power of attorneys, oaths of public officials and varies other notices are filed in this office. We maintain conflict of interest statements and roster of public agencies, register process servers, professional photocopiers, Unlawful Detainer Assistants and Legal Document Assistants. The Clerks office has been designated as an Acceptance Agent by the U.S. Passport Agency and accepts passport applications on their behalf. |
