Weekends / Holiday "Emergency" Disposition Permits
Whereas normal business hours for filing disposition permits are Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 3 pm, the following limited weekend and holiday hours for processing Emergency Disposition Permits (in compliance with state regulations and requirements) will be provided: Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays between the hours of 10am and 12pm.
Emergency Disposition Permits will be issued for those deaths that occur after 12:00 noon on the preceding business day where the deceased was a member of the Muslim, Jewish, or other religious faith that practices the disposition of the body within 1-2 days after death.
Upon a death within Yolo County that meets the above criteria, the following protocol has been established in concert with the Yolo County Sheriffs Office, Coroners Section:
- The Mortuary will contact the on-call deputy coroner at the main phone number (530) 668-5292 anytime during non-business hours.
- The Coroner will contact Flora Alvarez, Chief Deputy Registrar who will then make arrangements with the funeral home for processing the death certificate and burial permit between the hours of 10am and 12pm, Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays.
