Fictitious Business Name Search


It is the responsibility of every person to conduct a search of the index to assure the availability of the Fictitious Business Name (FBN) in this county. The Clerk/Recorder's office does not do searches over the phone.


If you are unable to search our online index, you may request that this office conduct the search for you. To request a search please mail the following to the address listed below:

  • $5.00 for each name to be searched. The name will only be searched exactly as submitted.
  • Submit in writing the name(s) to be searched.
  • Fee in the form of a check or money order made payable to the Yolo County Clerk/Recorder or the Credit Card Charge Form.
  • Daytime phone number.
  • Self Addressed Stamped Envelope for return mailing. You may choose to add $1.00 to your total in lieu of the Self Addressed Stamped Envelope.


The Yolo County Clerk-Recorder’s Office serves only as a depository of the names filed in Yolo County and does not accept any responsibility for any omissions, similarities, or duplications among FBNs on file. Each California county maintains an index for their county. You may contact each county for an in depth search.

The Fictitious Business Name index information is provided as a public service for your convenience. Updates and corrections occur on a regular basis, usually within 1 business day. We have tried to ensure that the information in this electronic document is accurate.
