Search Tips

  • The online search is updated daily and starts 3 days before the current date, i.e. today's recorded documents will not appear in the index until 3 days later.
  • The search will return recorded documents that begin the same way as your inquiry. If you enter “Jones” it will return any names that begin “Jones” such as “Jones John” as well as “Jones Smith Jane”
  • Capitalization does not matter. “JONES” will find the same things as “jones.”
  • Do not use punctuations such as “.” “,” “:” “;”. When the word “and” is in the name of the grantee or grantor use the “&” character.
  • If more than 300 recordings are found the computer will tell you to narrow your search. Do this by typing as much of the name as possible and also narrow your time frame for the search to return a fewer results. If you are looking for a specific document type choosing the type will decrease the number of returned documents.
