Fee Schedule

Services and Fees

(Effective July 1, 2025)

Fees are required for the following services, documents, or files.

Voter Registration

  • Certified Copy of Affidavit of Registration (Proof of Voter Registration): $1.50 (EC § 2167)
  • Printed Copy of Voter Registration Card Affidavit (Not certified): $1.50

General

  • Copies: $1.00 for the first page plus $0.25 for each additional page (GOV § 27366)
  • Research of Past Records: $65 per hour (half-hour minimum)
  • USB Drive: Actual cost – $1.00, as of 07/01/2025 (GOV § 6253)
  • Returned Check Fee: $25 per returned check
  • Shipping: Actual cost of postage and $10 per package

Voter Information and Election Data Files

  • Electronic Voter File or Vote-by-Mail Data File: $70 per file (EC §§ 2187, 2188, 2188.5(a), 2194)
  • Printed Voter List (Voter Indices): $0.50 per thousand (1,000) records/names.
  • Voter Address Labels: $0.02 per label plus a $60 setup fee
  • Individual Voter Lookup (up to 15 per election): $13 per record, plus copy fees (EC § 2191 and GOV § 6253)
  • Public Election Report (non-confidential reports, such as precinct-to-district reports): $20 per report, plus copy fees if printed (GOV § 6253)

Maps

  • Shapefiles (raw GIS data): $10 per zipped shapefile. After 1/1/2026, home precinct shapefiles: Free (GOV § 6253)
  • Standard Election Map with consolidated precincts: $15 per PDF. $55 per printed “wall map.” (GOV § 6253)
  • Custom Map Creation: $300 per customized map. Includes printed map and or PDF (EC § 2191 and GOV § 6253)

Campaign Finance (FPPC-related)

  • Copy of Political Reform Campaign Finance Documents: $0.10 per page, plus a $5 retrieval fee for documents five years old or older (GOV § 81008)
  • Late Filing Fee for Political Reform Campaign Finance Document: $10 per day, up to a maximum of $100  (GOV § 91013)

Elections and Candidates

  • Candidate Filing Fees (County and Judicial): 1% of annual salary for the office on the first day to circulate petitions to gather "signatures-in-lieu" to offset candidate filing fees (EC §§ 8103, 8105)
  • Candidate Statement Fee: Actual cost depends on the election and the contest for publication in the county voter information guide (EC § 13307)
  • Vote Recount (hand count or computer): Actual cost (EC § 15624)
  • Notice of Intent to Circulate Petition: $200 per initiative (EC § 9103(b))
