How to Record a Document

THREE OPTIONS TO SUBMIT YOUR DOCUMENT(S) FOR RECORDING:

IN-PERSON:

  • Prepare your document for recording. 
  • Bring your original document Monday-Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm., excluding holidays (see 2023 calendar).
  • Payment is collected over the counter and conformed copies returned to you immediately. Your original document(s) are returned by mail within 2 weeks.

BY MAIL:

  • Mail the original document(s) for recording, conformed copies, SASE, and payment to: Yolo County Clerk-Recorder, PO Box 1130, Woodland, CA 95776-1130.
  • Documents received by mail are processed within 2-3 business days.
  • Conformed copies are returned immediately by mail.
  • Original documents are returned within 2 weeks from the date of recording.

ELECTRONIC:

  • Inquire with an authorized submitter (title companies, attorney's and lender institutions) to record electronically.
  • Electronic recordings are received 8:30 am to 3:00 pm, Monday - Friday, excluding holidays (see 2023 calendar)
