Electronic Death Registration System (EDRS) - Vital Records

To have a record unlocked (PI or MI), Re-File burial permits, and to request letter of non-communicable disease (NCD) email us at [email protected]. 

Office hours for EDRS filings are Monday - Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., unless there is a legal holiday, view 2023 calendar.

Be advised - EDRS processing turnaround time is 2 hours.

Funeral Homes shall forward by first class mail, or personally deliver the original documents and appropriate fees (checks only) to the Yolo County Vital Records Office within 24 hours of electronic registration and issuance of permit for disposition.

The Yolo County Vital Records Office will process disposition permits, on weekends and holidays on an “Emergency” basis only. Whereas normal business hours for filing disposition permits are Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, the following limited weekend and holiday hours for processing “Emergency” Disposition Permits (in compliance with state regulations and requirements) will be provided: Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays between the hours of 10am and 12pm
